Losar: February 25, 2009

The most important date in the Tibetan calendar is approaching: Losar and the Tibetan New Year. At this time of year it is both wonderful and traditional to show our appreciation to our teachers through monetary gifts. We would like to encourage all sangha members to help us to donate a generous amount to our precious teachers: His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and our wonderful guru The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche plus all our Nalandabodhi western teachers, acharyas and lamas. Nalandabodhi Canada needs to raise more than $3500 to cover gifts for all the teachers, lamas and acharyas. We count on your devotion and support at this time.

You will receive a tax receipt. If sending a cheque, mail to Nalandabodhi Canada, P.O. Box 2355 Vancouver BC V6B 3W5 and indicate 'Losar donation' in the memo line. Although we suggest that each of us give $50, please give more if possible although any amount you can give is deeply appreciated and brings boundless merit. With bodhicitta as our guiding thought may we be successful in showering our compassionate and diligent teachers with gifts to support them in their ceaseless activities to benefit beings. You may also donate during the Losar celebrations with your community by giving cash or a cheque. Please let your finance coordinator know if you give cash and wish to receive a receipt.
